Supporting Evidence

For my website, I have used a mint green and pink colour scheme so that it stands out but also look simplistic. This is so that the user can find it easy to locate everything on the website and so that the website’s pages don’t look cluttered.

At the top of the home page there are multiple headings that the user can click on to take them to the pages related to each heading. For example, when the user clicks on the ‘sport’ heading, it will send them to my link page that will feature several stories related to this topic. This allows the user to focus their attention on what they are interested in so that they can make the website more personalised to their preferences which will encourage them to use it more often. The font I have used is ‘berlin sans’, which is a simple font that makes it clear for the user to read. This juxtaposes the conventions of the magazine covers as they don’t need to be as bold to get the shopper’s attention. Another one of the headings will be for users to enter competitions which they can do my clicking on the ‘WIN!’ headings. This will attract to the target audience as they will see it as a way that they can have the chance to win something. There will also be a heading to subscribe to the magazines so that the users will get more involved with the brand’s products which will make it more successful.

At the bottom of the home page (scrolling page), there will be social media links that the user can click on which will send them to the brands social media accounts where they can find exclusive stories etc, that are not available to through the other products. This will likely encourage the target audience to follow the social media accounts as this is the age group that will typically find out new online.

For my link page, the topic of the stories will be on sport as this will likely be an interest of those who are aged from 16-25. The layout of this page will show the articles vertically so that the user can scroll down through the page and not be overwhelmed by the amount on the page. This page will also share the same colour scheme as the home page to keep the consistency across the website. The headings at the top of the page will still be displayed so that the user can go to another topic of stories if they choose to.
