Analysis of Magazine Cover 3
This magazine cover has its title in the top left corner in
bold white text with a red background which appears to be a conventional theme
of real-life magazines. This contrasts again the bright blue background that is
behind it to make it stand out more. Above this is where they have informed
their audience about the prizes they can win. This will entice the audience to
buy it even if they have no interest in the stories involved. If they have that
chance of winning one time, they are likely to continue to buy it at the chance
of winning again. This is more designed for the lower-class due to them using
this as a way to get extra income.
The coverlines are dotted around the cover, however they
have not covering the woman’s face to the right. They are all in bold,
capitalised text to attract the audience to the stories so they would want to
purchase the magazine to read the full story. The main coverlines they want
their audience to focus on are in bold red text as this is a colour that stands
out a lot, especially on a white or yellow background. Along side these, there
are images related to each of the stories which vary from being in square borders
or circular borders.
This magazine is likely aimed at women due to the coverline
related to fashion in the bottom left, which is stereotypically something that
women are interested in. This is also likely to be aimed at a lower-class audience
as in the fashion section it says “from £10” which would be affordable for
someone of that class. Whereas someone of a middle or upper-class could afford
something a lot more expensive.
