Analysis of Magazine Cover 1
The cover on this magazine differentiates itself by having
the title be designed as police to fit the stories they want to tell. The
colours of the magazines title are black and yellow which match the title of
“Crime Scene” because the background is police tape further showing a lot of
bad stories are being highlighted. Each story on the cover all features
different colours and faces to gain the attention of potential consumers, the
main colours on the cover feature bright, strong colours including red, yellow
and blue, which could suggest the danger that takes place in a lot of the
stories. This mean that when it is on the shelves in shops, it will stand out
amongst all the other ones.
The target audience for real life magazines is for young
adults aged between 20–30-year-olds in the lower class and this is because of
the people that the stories are related to being of a similar age. This would
also appeal to the lower class because of the crime related stories and the
fact that there are prizes included within the magazine which a lower-class
audience would be attracted to. These prizes are advertised underneath the
title, so the audience are likely to see this straight away and want to buy it.
On all the coverlines in this cover, they have capitalised
all of the key words that would attract their audience such as “DEATH” and
“PRISON WALLS”. This is also mostly aimed at a lower-class audience as an
upper-class audience wouldn’t want to read those kinds of stories as it’s not
something they have any interest in.
